What's a Thyroid Storm?
According to the National Institute of Health, 23.5 million Americans have an Autoimmune Disease, which is around 7% of the population. Learn from Lindsay Whitehead about this, including what a Thyroid Storm is, in this episode. Lindsay takes us through her background, first starting with how she was diagnosed with her first Autoimmune Disease, Diabetes, at the age of 2. She then explains how she came to find out shortly after getting married that she had two more, and what she experienced when she had a Thyroid Storm. Lindsay lists what red flags to look out for, and also gives some good advice on how to get the most out of working with your doctor. She talks about what things beyond medication have worked for her - including a paleo diet, moving everyday, using CBD, and drinking mushroom tea.
In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Nicole’s sister Natalie talks about her Autoimmune Disease called Amyopathic Dermatomyositis (say that 10 times fast!). She talks about her experience working with the doctors to get the disease under control, as well as the things she is experimenting with to help with the symptoms including Cryotherapy.

Lindsay highly recommends the Whole 30 diet - in fact, she found that just 3 grapes would spike her blood sugar when consistently practicing the diet!
When working through health issues, Lindsay suggests keeping a notebook with you to write down symptoms and questions to ask your doctor as they come up.
Nicole’s sister Natalie has an Autoimmune Disease, and her advice is to go with your gut - if you feel like something is off, don’t settle for doctors telling you there’s nothing wrong.
