Sound Baths Are Like Concerts You Can Lie Down At
Sound bath, sound therapy, and sound immersion -- different names for the same thing. This is what we talk with Davin Youngs, a Chicago based singer, teacher, and sound guide, about in Episode 19. We discuss the art of sound baths - what they are (not an actual bath, in case you were wondering!), and their ability to take your mind to a different place than the everyday. Davin explains how his unique approach to sonic immersions is completely improvised, and how his intention is to hold space for those who experience it to feel whatever they need to in that moment.
In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Nicole explains her take on the sound bath she experienced with Davin. While it was definitely different out of the gates, she came to find the experience to be very calming. Shanna also talks about the sound bath she had in nature on a yoga retreat. While both Shanna and Nicole were quite skeptical going in, they both see the benefits now.

Sound baths are an experience where you lie down and listen to music - whether that be crystal bowls or gongs, or in the case of our guest Davin, all of that plus his voice
At worst, sound baths are a concert where you get to lie down. At best, it is a transformative experience that allows your mind to open up to possibilities
