Andrea Fagenholz of Curiously Present joins Shanna and Nicole for this episode on hypnotherapy. We learn from her all it and how it bypasses the critical mind to tap into the subconscious.


In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Nicole details her own experience with hypnotherapy that started out as part of Nicole's quest to look for a cure to grinding her teeth and ended with Nicole discovering much deeper insights about herself. While Shanna hasn't had much experience, she explains her journey from initial skepticism to now being a convert.

  • Andrea explains that 88% of the brain is the subconscious mind with the critical mind acting as a bodyguard to protect you from what’s there. With hypnotherapy, you can bypass the bodyguard and tap into the power of the subconscious.

  • Some common reasons for individuals to seek out hypnotherapy include anxiety, stress, sleep issues, or common fears, such as fear of flying

  • There are two types of ways that people prefer to be spoken to - emotional or physical language. Andrea details how important it is to flex her style to speak to people in their language.

  • Nicole found hypnotherapy to be extremely beneficial in not only helping with grinding her teeth, but also uncovering issues she didn’t even know were still affecting her emotional body

  • Shanna now appreciates the art of hypnotherapy as she can relate it to using a similar approach to get A’s in school
