Jess Keys of The Golden Girl Blog gives us the 4-1-1 all about the Clean Beauty Movement. This is a great episode for the Clean Beauty novice, to learn why you might want to make the switch to non-toxic beauty care products, and some great tips for how to make it simple and affordable to get started.

In the “You Want Me To Do What??” section, Shanna and Nicole get into the details about their beauty routines and how "clean" they actually are. Nicole talks about being a little overwhelmed at the prospect of having to overhaul all of her products and her strong dislike for mineral sunscreens. And Shanna shares how she has been slowly building up her arsenal of clean products for years now, but knows there are still things she can swap out.

  • Jess’s Advice for switching to Clean Beauty Products:

    • View the clean beauty switch as a marathon, not a sprint - switching all at once could make your skin freak out!

    • Change out your products as you run out of them, to make it less daunting

    • Switch out your skincare first, ie serum or face lotions, before going to makeup

    • Start with your sunscreen! Mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are best

    • Look at the return policies - if it doesn’t work for you, switch it out and try another option
